Status: Concept Design Program: Residential Square Feet: 2,500sf Location: Los Angeles
Located in the hills of Los Angeles, the design is a three story 2,500 sq. ft. LEED designed single-family home. Garage is located at the street level, artist studio at 1st floor and family living at the 2nd floor. Based on the idea of fault lines, the linear house responds to the entry as a conceptual crack in the structure, which divides the main volume of the house. The South façade has a continuous high solar reflective skin that can be opened or closed allowing solar heat control, and two large roof vents allow cool air to move through the house encouraging passive cooling.
